Surgery postdate

Surgery went well. Dad left his room around 3 p.m. and came back around midnight. It was a very long surgery, but the neurosurgeon seemed pleased. The surgery was to stabalize Dad's neck and back. They put in plates, screws, and fused bones together. He also aligned Dad's back. (That was bonus. He said old people start to stoop and Dad was no exception. :) They have to keep a close eye on Dad to make sure he doesn't get an infection. As far as we know, the surgery did nothing to reverse any paralysis that may have taken place. His spinal cord is now free of pressure, but any healing or recovery is up to Dad and Heavenly Father. We continue to pray for the best, knowing all things are possible with faith and in accordance with the will of the Lord. We can never thank you all enough. You guys are the best.

Wow, that was a long surgery. But thankfully dad you are still with us and hopefully you will be awake sometime today so that you can learn what a great pain you are and how much we all love you.

To the fam,

You guys are all awesome. You are like a power house of strength and support. We love you all. Keep up all the good work you are doing, cause you are doing tremendous work. Dad was not always so easy to work with but you guys have done an excellent job. Well got to go. Love ya.

Oh by the way dad, I really miss you and the big bear hugs that I always receive. You know I was in my accident on your birthday but could you please make sure that you are awake the latest by Sunday because I really want to have good news by my birthday at the latest saying that you are awake.

You have been a wonderful dad, and though at times you had a way of making me feel guilty I will never regret how you raised me. I know you have a lot of piss and vigor in you yet so please get with it.

I wish that I could tell you all that I have been thinking and going through but I can't. But I will tell you one example of a great dad you are, I will always remember it.

I backed into another car at college and I was so scared, unsure, frustrated, and crying that I drove straight to the court house and went and saw you in your office. You took me on your lap and you comforted me and let me know everything was going to be alright. Dad that is something I will always remember with much love.

Right now I wish I was up there to give you comfort and let you that you are going to be OK. Because you are no matter what. I love you more then you can ever know. You are a wonderful man. Thank you dad for being you.

LOVE HOLLY

P.S. I know for a fact that I am dad's favorite third daughter, so ha to the rest of you all!!!!!!!!!

This is a great quote. I feel this way..love Holly

Gratitude Brings Heightened Awareness
---------------------------------------------------

"Gratitude is a Spirit-filled principle. It opens our minds to a
universe permeated with the richness of a living God. Through it, we become
spiritually aware of the wonder of the smallest things, which gladden our
hearts with their messages of God's love. This grateful awareness
heightens our sensitivity to divine direction. When we communicate
gratitude, we can be filled with the Spirit and connected to those around
us and the Lord. Gratitude inspires happiness and carries divine
influence."
